The sliding pilothouse windows on my 28TE are solidly frozen. Any ideas how to get them un-stuck?
Boat yard tells me to squirt dish soap everywhere and let it soak in.
Thanks for any input....

Re: Frozen sliding windows on 28TE
I have had surprisingly good luck spraying diluted vinegar onto the track and especially along the base of the window where it is stuck so it can soak the track beneath the window. Not sure why/how it works but it freed up most of the stuck sliding windows on our current boat (not an Albin). Once they are sliding, I spray the part the window rests on with silicone spray lube and it seems to keep them sliding for a season. Every fall or spring I revisit with the vinegar solution. It has worked well so far on our 34 year old boat, although I know window rebuilds are in our future.

For sliding maintenance once they are unstuck I get multi season sliding from a can of spray lube used on sail boats for the tracks they use for various Sailbote functions

Like Mike commented, I've used Vinegar to break down the salt which seems to have super-glue like powers. The last few seasons, I've been spraying the boat down with Salts Gone if I took heavy spray... no issues!

Re: Frozen sliding windows on 28TE
I used silicone lubricant on the window tracks, it would sometimes work too good and the window(s) start sliding on it’s own in a seaway.
Had to back off on the lube and let them stay slightly sticky, no way to adjust the friction.

Re: Frozen sliding windows on 28TE
My new to me 94 albin 28te was the same. Went to harbor freight and got a couple of they're suction cups for doing automotive body work. Stuck one on the inside and one on the outside and the wife and I pulled the windows open without much difficulty.
