This Northcoast looks like a big Albin with outboards

Post by REBMystic »

I saw this article in Soundings. This new boat has similar lines to Albin TEs. just bigger and with outboards. Also a bit more expensive. :D

Northcoast was the last owner of Albin, and I believe they ended up with the molds. If you do a forum search on "Northcoast" you'll turn up a few threads.

Did you look at the photos of the interior of the 415? It's lifted straight out of 35CB/35TE family. https://www.northcoastboats.com/415-specifications

Did they also build the last 28TE then?
I was looking for used 28s around 2015 and found this brand new 28TE for sale, contacted the dealer/broker but no response and moved on to a different brand.
Did they continue to make the 28TE under the Northcoast name?

I don't remember without going back and reading the threads. The last builder might have been C&C.

Aha, Albin had several buyers over the years?
Let me Google that, probably an interesting read.:)

There were two of the Northcoast 41 ft offshore boats docked here for a week or so in Bristol RI last season. They are built locally right up the road from the harbor so servicing and warranty will be a snap if Santa is really in the mood. The DNA similarity to our Albin 35TE was unmistakable, except with more freeboard and broad beam on steroids. The 4 big outboards hanging off the transom looked a bit daunting and who needs to feed 1200 horses anyway when 600 will do just fine ?, In this area, especially across the chop in Buzzard's Bay, a more moderate 24 knots seem like plenty of speed, but those tough looking very handsome pilothouse boats sure look like they can handle 30 KTS in comfort and style.
