Post by Wilkie »

Does anyone have details for installing an Anchor Windless on a 28 TE?

Are you installing a complete new system, or replacing an existing windlass.
Replacement is pretty easy. a few bolts, and 2 heavy wires need to be spliced.
A new install requires a lot of wiring, circuit breaker, dash switch, bow mounted switch, up/down relay, etc.
If you buy a complete kit, it should come with everything you need (except wire), and they will include instructions.
You will also need a bow pulpit with an anchor roller. I think the most time and frustration would be spent running
wires and connecting everything up.

Another note on the windlass- if it’s a new install check that your wiring isn’t already there. I have seen a few 28’s that were pre wired for a windlass but never had it installed.

Wilkie, are you certain that the wiring isn't already in place?
