Re: Yanmar 6LP-STE Water Pump Rebuild
Dock side test today Sept.5 With new raw water hoses and rebuilt water pump went very well. Boat was put to the test running at 3500 rpms there was no longer hose failure or raw water pump failure. The next test will be the sea test under load to test the fuel pump. I'm planning next to replace the hoses after the raw water pump they haven't been changed in 20 years and are earning their keep. I want to replace these hoses with non OEM hoses because of modifications to the engine cooling tube dia.. variations and lengths. Would any one have suggestions in using non oem hoses. I will probably need to get a assortment of 90 degree and 45 degree elbows. Has anyone used the corrugated hoses sold on the market?
