Please tell me about this extension on my radar arch
I'm sure I'm missing the obvious but I can not figure out the purpose of the pipe sticking out toward the stern from my radar arch. I'm referring to the pipe coming off of a "U" at a slight upward angle from under the steaming light. It is clearly part of the original arch and not added later. It is about 14" long and the same diameter as the main bows of the arch. I can't think of a use for it other than maybe a flag pole holder but it is in an odd place for a flag on a boat. I hope someone will educate this dummy. Thanks!

That looks like a Center rigger base...similar to outriggers used to spread trolling baits out, you place a rigger pole in that with a release clip and use it for a trolling line straight off the stern of the boat...

Agreed with Gerber and it looks like a pretty nice custom setup.
The beauty of a center rigger is that you can get that line up nice and high and run a second line lower off the center stern.

Thank you! Makes sense, it would just mean taking the awning off to use it. The boat did come with outriggers.
