I just came across an intriguing Craigslist ad for what appears to be a simple, yet very effective bow or stern thruster.
As an A27 owner fortunate to have bought my boat with bow thruster installed, I've become a strong proponent for these devices on our boats (or many other single inboard engine boats).
I'd be interested to know if anyone on the forum has this device, but wanted to pass this ad along for those who might be interested.
Following is the ad:

Re: Thruster
The idea has been discussed before, namely adapting a MinnKota for the purpose, but interesting to see a proprietary device being sold.
Adapting a used MinnKota would be a lot cheaper.
Note: Cannot post CL links here without the a and i of craig inverting. To see it, you have to copy and paste the link, then correct the criag to craig. A forum idiosyncracy.

Re: Thruster
As a bow thruster its not very attractive but I could see it as a stern thruster. The minnkota props are quite bad in reverse but a double mount like that could work quite well. It would be hard to do a regular stern thruster in the A25 due to the hull shape. (if someone would be so inclined to do that since It has pretty good control over the stern. ) Having that in the backwash probably don't add much drag either. A pair of Minnkota 55 lb would probably be ok. Not sure how they hold up long term being submerged.
