Running warm

Post by Larry cessna »

I have a 1998 TE28 with the Peninsular Beast. It started running at 200 about a week ago. I have a few questions. I can only get to about 3000 rpms at WOT and that will get me to 17 km? Do I need to take the heat exchanger off to replace the impeller and if so can anyone give me some simple steps to changing it out.
I lost one of the fuse caps on the dash. Anyone know where to get one that matches. All the ones I can find are to long. Thanks. Anyone know a Peninsular mechanic near Rock Hall MD.

Larry I think Tolchester will work on peninsular. Give them or haven harbor a shout.

I have the same engine,
I have the water pump impeller changed every 2/3 years,
Cooling loop flushed as soon as it gets over 190 consistently,
I did have someone flush out the old coolant and have the aftercooler taken off and tank cleaned,
My speed is 16-18 knots at 2,800-3100 rpm
Wot is 3,500 or so, 22.5 Kts
They do seem to be a bit slow with the peninsular

Same engine. Same issue. Same thoughts.
Change the impeller and flush.
Yes, your WOT is low. Should be 3500.

Also did you replace the impeller. If not how much would it cost.
