Albin 28 fuel fill vent cap - HELP !
I know - grossly stupid - but when I fill the diesel tank I remove the plastic caps on the vents outboard of the filler tube to assist a faster fill (it’s still very slow but faster than otherwise). Unfortunately I dropped one in the water at the fuel dock today. Still kicking myself.
Anyone know from where I can obtain a replacement ? Grateful thanks in advance.

Not to worry - think I found it from Atwood on Amazon.

(it’s still very slow but faster than otherwise).
I found on my 28 that the vent line was the problem making for a slow fill. The line was siting on top of the tank and run so the fuel that got in the vent line could not drain back into the tank. It made for an air trap. When filling the air displacement from the tank forces fuel in the line out the vents and spits at you. Ran the vent line held off from lying on top of the tank so fuel would drain back and clear it self. I can fill full flow since I made the change.

Re: Albin 28 fuel fill vent cap - HELP !
I dropped my fuel cap in the water today, don’t ask how! Anyone have a quick size and location for a new one? I think an 1 1/2” Perko will do the trick. Help confining would be nice.

Make sure any cap you get is returnable. There is no standard for diesel fuel caps. A long time ago when I too donated my cap to Davy Jones Locker I had to try four different caps. None fit. Finally bought the whole fuel fill assembly and sure enough THAT cap fit perfectly.

I lucked out and found the standard 2” cap from West marine worked. I didn’t take apart the assembly to install the safety chain. I am sure this isn’t the last time it will go overboard.
