Flag Pole Socket

Post by robienick »

I have a 28TE and would like to mount a flag pole socket on the transom. There are plenty of mounts for a flat deck surface, but none for the vertical transom. Does anyone know of a source for this type of mount?

Recommended and sold to me by Ken Hilton at Standish when I bought my 28 TE from him back in 2006 was a Stainless Steel 30° Round Base by Whitecap. I put one on my 31TE as well.

This is your solution, but comes with the task of cutting the base diameter of your wooden flagpole to fit along with cutting an angle on the end to meet the 30 degree angle for full insertion. No big deal on a tablesaw. I also drilled a hole where the upper set screw is located in the base to add a safety pin.
