315 yanmar preliminarily check list

Hi all! I am going to look at an ‘02 28 albin tomorrow with a 315 yanmar. Is there any way I can tell if the valves have been replaced? I understand the 2002 models were part of the recall. Any other items that I can visually check while there? It’s a 600 hr motor and was recently de-scaled

Look for noticeable rust behind the raw water pump / injector pump. Around the oil pan and the famous “steel” oil plug directly behind the injection pump. Use a flashlight to examine closely.

Costly fix if the plug rusts out.
