Diesel check up question

Post by coolchange »

Hi all: tomorrow I have a D mechanic coming to help me get the new Tachometer calibrated and "check other stuff" The (Isuzu 157) is a bottom up rebuild by PO and only has about 620 hours...runs like a top but what should I have him check out? ( I do want him to train me on how to "refuel" with the manual pump in case air gets into the system) Any thoughts appreciated

How to bleed your fuel lines is definitely a good thing to know. Assuming you already know how to change filters, impeller, zincs, air filter, that's about it. The only thing I can think of is bypassing your solenoid using a remote starter. Here's a good article:

If you are comfortable adjusting your valves, you could bring that up.
