Engine Operating Temp/Oil Pressure gauge

Post by mjohnh »

I have a 28TE with a Yanman 315 6LPA......the gauge shows engine temp at 180 to 190.....is that normal.
The oil pressure is shown at about 40 when at about 1000 rpm.....but about 75 when at 2000 rpm and above...is that normal?

After my new control panel I have thought my pressure in your same range was low also. But everything is fine and my oil analysis backs that up. No bearing wear etc... My temp seems to be there as well but no issues and no alarm lights.

My oil pressure indicates low at low RPMs, but it seems normal for this type motor.

My boat runs about the same ranges. I had it checked when I brought the boat and when I had it serviced. Both Yanmar machanics said it was normal.
