28te galley/head faucet upgrade

Post by Pedro »

Well I did it! Replaced the galley faucet and the head faucet (head faucet was getting pitted and green),
Shower faucet supply lines are several inches away from my reach ,but the adjustable basin wrench will work with patience, however I decider to disassemble the shower faucet and try to paint it with hobby chrome paint,if that fails I'll go back into the bilge,,I used the moen chrome laundry faucet from Home Depot $42 I think,

Here are the after shots along with the galley before,, the head faucet was much nastier,,,

The galley is easy especially if you're replacing the fridge. The head probably is too if your arms are long enough.

Without searching to confirm, I recall this was one on your first fixes when you got the "new to you" boat.
And your other dilemma was "Where does the garbage pail go!"

It was also one of my first fixes. The Scandvik was broken and I did not see why I would want a shower head in the galley so I replaced with this more conventional boat fixture.

One of my first projects was replacing the worn faucet and moving the location of the new one. I installed a piece of trim to cover the hole for the old faucet which also keeps the shelf contents from sliding out. This is one of the most useful changes we've done.

You have a good memory! Also, where does the dish towel go, which I also solved. I have no idea where anyone else keeps theirs because I've never seen a photo of another boat with my solution. Geeze, this is important stuff!

Nancy,

The stove is a Wallas diesel heater/stove. Works as a heater with the lid down and a stove with it up.

Well here a picture of the head shower valves chromed plastic valve body trim plate, the valve itself is plastic and works fine I figured since only the actual trim was pitted and green I should at least try to renew it from the top as access is near impossible, first attempt at painting and polishing and it looks pretty good,,I might lightly sand and try another coat but I'm impressed",Spaz Stix"hobby paint, mirror chrome and gloss black backer for a base coat,
