Could it work?

Post by Mark Deeser »

Still in the thinking process of my repower when someone on the dock said ( how about a 140hp 4 cyl Mercruiser? ) Anyone have any thoughts on this, good or bad? They are not expensive, seem to hold up if maintained, look easy to rebuild. Would be nice not to have to drop 15k into a 20k boat. Thanks for any imput, Mark.

Mercruiser. Over here in the UK they're regarded as a damn good anode! Personally I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole.

Thanks Tree, I wouldn't even have any idea where to begin looking for a barge pole.

I think a barge pole is what you need to push your boat into the marina after your Mercruiser quits running ;-)

I'm seeing a trend developing here.
