Riverside Albin 28 TE

Post by Froggy »

Hi all,

Just moved up to RI a couple years ago and brought along my Albin 28. She' stored at Bullocks Cove Marina and launching this week for the summer. Mine is one of the few convertibles. The sister boat is down in Barrington.

Just had a problem with the HPU on the trim tabs. Appaently, a solenoid is blown but I'm going to replace the entire unit as it is 1993 vintage.

Cheers,

Carl

Welcome to the group.

By chance is your summer home Swansea Marina? I saw a 28 convertible over there last year while visiting a friend. You do not see a lot of the convertibles.

Hope to see you on the bay,
Jack

Nope, I brought Froggy up from Annapolis (great trip by the way) in July 2005 and have kept her with KG at Bullocks Cove marina since then.

I just checked out your marina using marinas.com, it looks like a very nice place, protected but very accessible. Don't know if you every tried that site but it works very well whne you want to check out any marina anywhere.

Hi Denis,

Nothing fancy but just around the cormer from my house. I was down your way to visit around St. Patricks Day. If I get ambitious, I'll bring the boat down one of these days and will see if we can get together.

Weather permitting, we will be coming up to Newport this weekend. Im not sure where you are in relation to that. Are you going to Block for the rendezvous?

Rendezvous

Post by Froggy »

Hi Denis,

Froggy should launch by Thursday. If so, I'll get her cleaned up Friday and could run down to Newport Saturday to meet you. I haven't arranged a mooring. Where will you be?

I was supposed to go to my daughter's in DC the weekend of the rendezvous and may change that so I can go out to Block as it would be great to meet everyone.Where are you staying on Block, I also need to arrange a mooring or slip there.

We have not secured a mooring yet at Newport we will call for one when we get in there saturday. Looks like Newport Harbor Marina would be a good place to stay though. My boat name is "Red Stripe", if you go there call for me on ch#9 or 16.
On Block, the rendezvous is at the Boat Basin, it should be great to see averyone! :D

I have some (non-Albin) friends mooring in Newport this weekend so I might swing through also. No name on my transom yet, but 28 TE w/blue hull. I will keep an eye out for you guys.
