Marking Chain

Post by Pitou »

In the absence of a chain counter .. Liquid Electrical Tape works well. This really stands out. I had done this on the 28 as well.

125 ft. of chain .. Marked coming over the pulpit just before the anchor comes out of the water, again at 30 FT., 50 Ft., 75 Ft. & 100 Ft. All followed by 200 Ft. of 8 Strand Plait.

Kevin: I like your coated paint chain. Need to do this with Flattery. Thanks, Howard

Thanks guys. Glad to have shared this. For those with a lot of chain or all chain rode this is nice and visible.

In the past I had tried Imtra chain markers, but they are expensive and so small they are difficult to keep count. I've also used zip ties, pink mason's line & red & white electrical tape, but this system is highly visible making keeping track of the chain deployed easy peasy to keep track of the count.
