Hello,

I am the proud owner of a 1993 28 TE. I have the boat on hard and I see a round cover (see picture) on the keel, can anyone tell me what that is and if i need to do any maintenance to it. Thanks in advance for your help.

Looks like a garboard plug to me. its just a drain plug to get the last drops of water out of the keel. a half inch drive ratchet (or extension) should fit in the hole and you can remove the plug.

Great, thanks for the quick response, I suspected that but did not wanted to force it open until checking with the experts!

Vbologna: It appears you have gotten your answer. I have seen previous posting on the drain issue. You should do fine. In any event welcome to the AOG. On a side note, the plug takes a 1/2" heavy duty allen wrench or a 1/2" socket extension to remove. I leave mine out all winter till spring which is the last item to be installed before splash time.
