Best bottom paint ever

I have been using Pettit Hydrocoat for about 10 years.
This year I tried their latest Hydrocoat ECO, and ablative, NON-copper water-based anti-fouling bottom paint.
Pictures taken at haul-out would have been better proof, but I neglected to take them.

Believe it or not, I could have gotten away WITHOUT power washing. That's how clean and spotless EVERYTHING, including metals were.
Yesterday, due to an impending Noe'easter, I also hauled out 13 Whaler. AMAZING! Even the lower transom was clean, which usually has heavy slime build-up. This year, nothing.
This is the most remarkable anti-fouling paint I have ever experienced.
Newton & Son Boat Transport told me that he has never seen a hull that clean.
The boat was in water since the first of June, until the last week of October.

Pettit Hydrocoat ECO: Highly recommended(and amazingly, being water-based, the application goes over almost any other bottom paint, and the clean-up is with soap and water)

We must different types of paint over this side. We've been in the water since March and have very little build up. Maybe water temperature etc makes a big difference. We normally use international Interspeed but since buying FP we've moved over to Hempel Titan Extra purely because in white, it doesn't go green after a short time.

I have been using Hydrocoat SR for the last two years and have been happy with it. I will definitely try Hydrocoat Eco next Spring. It says "Eliminates the need for sanding between coats." If that's true, I am definitely on board with Eco!!!

Used it this year and had the same results. Last season I used the older Hydrocoat and had a fair amount of soft growth, so my marina recommended an eco product. They suggested an Interlux product, but I bought the Petit. Great stuff.

I too give Hydrocoat Eco a thumbs up. In addition to the superior anti-growth properties, long lasting coating and easy clean up, it drys in roughly 2 hours between coats and 12 hours to launch. That means that if you bottom paint every two years like I do (South Florida) you can get away with simple power washing, maybe a little scraping in high wear areas and have the boat back in the water the next day. That's nice.

Did some quick reading on the Petit site.
Attached hereto is the literature.
It reads: Okay to go over older hard paints but not okay over traditional soft antifoulings, must be removed.
Any real experience out there with going over previously painted surfaces?

I went over an unknown paint with hydrocoat 4 years ago and the only place it failed was where the old paint let go go in a couple of places. This time the eco adhered well to the old hydrocoat. I like the copper free water base..it can go over anything, including transducers. I didn't sand generally just the bare spots and fouled areas.

Sorry, don't know. I did switch from Interlux ablative to Hydrocoat on my previous Blackfin without issue.
