Sea water flush

Does anyone have any photos or info on a fresh water flush set up for the sea water side?

Doug, I think Joe is referring to flushing the seawater side after each use, no? But you're on a mooring, plan on using the fresh water washdown hose I guess?

Yes Rob, I can do this back at my dock when cleaning up after the trip.
Unlike your creek, northport harbor is high salinity. Thinking it may be a good idea to include in PM.
Your thoughts?

Fresh water flush is never a bad idea but doing it at the dock and then running her out to the mooring would negate what you are trying to accomplish. It's not the fact that you run salt water through the engine all day when you are out at sea that you are trying to combat with a fresh water flush. When you setup a flush the intent is that all the hours she sits unused she is sitting flushed out with fresh water within. So being she's on a mooring the only option would be to use the fresh water washdown but I don't know for sure that it would give you adequate flow rate to accomplish this..

I ran our engine on a fresh water to test it prior to the boat going back in the water - I simply put a hose in the strainer box and that was more than enough as the water in the box was overflowing.

But I think the hose you are referring to is a garden hose on land, right? That clearly provides more than adequate flow for an idle flush. TOY-RIFIC is equipped with freshwater washdown which I was I was referring to Joe using while out on the mooring. The flow rate is much less.

I had thought about the freshwater wash down but like you say, it wont be anywhere near enough

I've been thinking about this and I'm just not seeing any particular benefit to flushing. The raw water sides are expected to be in a salt environment and are designed for it. Make sure you service the zincs and do a flush when you winterize her.

Thanks all for the comments. I will do what Doug suggest, changed the zincs and will flush when I winterize her.
