Window Rubber

Post by rcornejo »

Hello Everyone,

I posted this question before but did not get any responses. If you can help me, please let me know. I am in a kind of a tough spot. I have a 97 28 TE that needs the three front windows replaced but I cannot find the rubber that holds the windows in place. I tried Standish and C&C Marine but they did not have any idea where I can find them. If you have dealt with this before, please let me know what you recommend.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Roland. I contacted Aluminum 2000, which is a division of Pompanette, about the gasket on my sliding windows in my pilothouse. Perhaps they could help you out? I just submitted an email via their site and they were quite responsive. Check out http://www.aluminum2000.com.

Hope this helps.

Roland,
I would imagine that whoever is actually going to replace the glass would have replacement gasket material as well. I know I wouldn't attempt to take that job on myself. I would much prefer to hold someone else accountable on that installation. Will be interested to see how this progresses as I appear to have some gasket material showing signs of aging. Please keep us posted. Thanks and Good Luck!!

Hi Chris and Dale,

The window company I hired could not find any rubber molding that would work on those windows. I am trying to call Aluminum 2000 to see if they can help me. No one has returned any of my calls yet. I will keep trying and post my results since I don't think I will be the only one to deal with this. Hopefully, I will be able to help someone else with this.

Hello Everyone,

After much time searching, I was able to find a company that carries the exact rubber molding that secures the thee front windows on the 1997 TE. The company name is pompanet and the contact is Dennis Burbank. Pompanet bought out the company who manufactured the rubber moldings for our Albins. You can reach Dennis at 813 885-9781. Hopefully, now you won't have to go through the process of tracking this item down like I had to!
