31 TE Weights
I am looking at 31 TE that has weights in the transom. Is this standard on all the 31's?

Re: 31 TE Weights
On our 31 TE with twin 370 Cummins there is about 60#'s of diver belt weights along the outside of the starboard stringer under the exhaust.I was told it was probably put there by Albin for ballast.

Re: 31 TE Weights
We were told by our Marine surveyor that our boat was "ten pounds of flour in a five pound bag", by which he meant that whatever COULD have been put into our boat WAS put into it. Including the generator, an extra 70 gallon fuel tank, a water maker (subsequently taken out), and if you can think of other "stuff", they got it in there somehow. If there is ballast in there, we wouldn't be able to see, it, I don't think, but the boat hasn't sunk yet . And we are now thinking of putting some ballast in--portside only--because even when empty, the "extra" 70 gallon tank sets us just a bit to starboard.

Re: 31 TE Weights
I guess it is standard practice to use weights on these boats to balance them out.
