Packing ...

I am a new owner of a 1994 28 albin with the 225hp volvo diesel engine.. What size packing do i use for the rudder and shaft and where should i look for the stuffing box on the shaft? i have a feeling it is going to be a very tight place to get to.. thank you

Surely someone must know the packing size for the rudder post. I need to redo mine and would like to have it on hand before pulling it apart.

I did find a post where Dennis (owned Red Stripe) indicated his rudder packing was 3/8"

Thanks Doug: I did try a search but missed that line by Dennis. Hope I can remove the bolts that hold the aluminum bar across the top without too much trouble.
