Noise control

Post by johnvb1014 »

We have been working at noise reduction. Cut thick (3/4") rubber mats to fit deck area in wheelhouse as well as deck area aft of that (in front of aft cabin. For this, we used 2 stall mats purchased at Agway for $34 each. Huge improvement!

Now with engine noise much reduced, I detect what I think is transmission or drive train noise from the shifter control that I think is being telegraphed up through the cables. I read a post that this can occur, but didn't find any solutions.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

If the cables are vibrating you could try just tie wrapping them together, perhaps with a piece of foam between them, to reduce the noise coming through them.
