Post by sparky5959 »

I own 28TE 1994 gm6.2 with a presolite starter motor.Does anybody know of an after market starter.I am having it looked at Harleys in NL,but was told it was going to be hard to find rebuild kits.
Thank You

This is for the 6.5. If you are replacing a old style Prestolite starter, without the solenoid mounted on it, you will need other parts. Please call PEI at 616-530-1298 for more information.

and solenoid, which seems to short out.

I replaced the entire electrical harness with a new one from Peninsula and Andiamo worked well for three weeks (including the NE Albin rendezvous).

Upon return to home port, the solenoid seems to short out. I turn the key and try to operate the glow plugs to work; after 2 seconds it "shorts" out.

As a result we can't start or go anywhere. The mechanic says he can't find the short.

Any ideas anyone?

This sounds like the glow plug timer. Contact Matt at Peninsular.
