Reversed polarity
Can reversed polarity for a period of time (?) blow fuses or short out motors like a refrigerator or a head pump? Or is it just a coincidence that trouble with both occurred after a stay in the local yard for shaft seal replacement?

Re: Reversed polarity
Yes, it can. We always carried a homemade pigtail abut 2' long that plugged into 30 amp dock outlet and had a standard 15 amp grounded outlet on the other end. I made it for using my power tools on the dock but also used it along with a $3 polarity tester from Home Depot etc. before plugging into unknown quality power.
