Water Under the radar arch

Post by kowal_53 »

I recently purchased a 2006 Albin 28. The boat survey detected water near both sides of the roof under the radar arch. I was curious if anyone has run into this isse before. For now I intend to remove the arch for the winter, and see what is there now, and later this comming spring.

Possibly the arch was never bedded/sealed when bolted down or possibly water is somehow seeping by or under. My understanding is the hulls were shipped from the factory to dealers with the arch off. 2 bolts each side going down into threaded anchors. I had removed my arch one time to do some wiring and the caulk held the arch on pretty secure once the bolts were removed. A little rocking and it broke free. Re-caulk and you should be fine. Best to catch these things early and not put them off.
