noise reduction
has anyone done anything to mitigate engine noise? i know there are a number of products to help soundproof the engine room of boats, but i don't have any experience with these. i'm going to remove the carpet in the salon of my boat and install wood flooring, so i'm going to loose the noise reducing properties of the carpet.

Re: noise reduction
erice,
I have the Soundown product lining the engine box and the center hatch on my 28. It was already installed when I bought my boat so I can't tell you the before/after difference. I can tell you the difference is very noticable when opening that hatch with the engine running. I've seen this product name mentioned quite a bit by owners.
