31TE Ventilation Grill

Post by lawrento »

Hello AlbinOwners,
Wish to check whether any Owners have change/ improve or re-design their Ventilation Grill located at port and starboard midship section.
My ventilation grill looks badly abuse by the enviroment.
Any off the shelve purchase (where) or have to custom made ?
Appreciate your ideas .
Cheers !

I replaced mine last year. Here is a link to the plastic ones: http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/st ... sNum=10667
There are also stainless vents but they are not the same size. Let me know of you cannot find them locally.
By the way the screws that hold the vent in place also support a box on the inside that the ventilation hose attaches to. The box is supposed to be sealed in place but mine was loose and the box fell down inside and it was difficult to retrieve behind the panel above the holding tank. So if you see it is loose try not to let it fall.

Another idea I just remembered, on my boat the same vents are found under the gunnels where they have stayed in perfect shape. You can swap them out if you cannot find replacements.

Hi Russ,
Thanks for Infos.
I'm refering to the bigger engine vent grille about 35"x 6" as shown in the pic.
The local repair yard suggested to custom made ... using stainless steel with laser cut technology and etch the Albin sign together.
The quote S$2,400/- a pair.
Any ideas welcome ?
Cheers !
