STERN THRUSTER

Post by jillsusan »

I OWN A 2005 28 TE-- LOVE THE BOAT- NOT EVEN A QUESTION

DOCKING IN A WIND AND OR CURRENT IS WORK

HAVE THE BOAT NEW FROM 05 AND CAN RUN IT BLIND FOLDED

JUST WOULD LIKE MANVING IN TIGHT PLACES EASIER

ANYONE HAVE A THOUGHT OR KNOW ANYONE WHO HAS PUT ONE ON THEIR 28

SPOKE TO VETUS AND NOT THAT DIFF TO INSTALL OFF THE TRANSOME UNDER THE PLATFORM

There has been some discussion around here about that. AllanD has one on his 28 and I'm sure a few other members. You could try the search function.
I can see where it comes in handy if your docking alone or in a unique stituation.
I guess I'm lucky that someone always seems to be around when I'm docking.

My opinion is that on a boat under, say, 40', a stern thruster is kind of pointless. You can use the prop-walk to get into and out of most most every situation when combined with the bow thruster.

But then, if I was a little older and less physically fit, I might think differently.

I agree. I have a hydraulic one on my 40 that the previous owner installed.
Although it helps and I got used to it, I don't really need it 95% of the time.Aa bow thruster would be many times more helpfull.
