engine instrument panel reinstallation

Post by tomcat rio »

...i have found its really a pain to work behind the panel.
sooo.
i'm gonna remove it and remount it with a bit of satinless steel piano hinge on the bottom (inside) and retain the screws on top.
if it comes out properly, it should be a transparent mod. i use marine grade connectors, but they do pop off sometimes..
..
when i can, i just replace the old connectors with new stuff.

Sounds like a good idea. I've seen consoles that hinged down and worked great. Take some pictures and let us see how it turns out. Might be a good project for the winter.

Sounds like a good idea. Our boat's instrument panel and electrical panel are both rigged that way.
