Another Square Foot of Countertop Space for $9.99

Post by RobS »

When cooking there is limited space. I bought a cutting board and cut it out to sit in the recess for the sink. Adds countertop space and is useful as a cutting board that stays put. Not a big deal but was cheap and works well so I thought I'd throw it out there...

That's a great idea. But, since I'm DIY-challenged I'll have to wait for the West Marine version. Of course it will cost 49.99 since it's for a boat.

You know, a little aluminum foil and a little ice and that would be a nice cooler too.....great idea.

We've been employing this little trick on our boats for many years. Most boats these days come with the sink inserts already included. it's a no-brainer because you know they just use the cutout from when they made the coutertop anyway. Drill a finger hole, bevel the edges, and voila!

Great Idea ... I pared down an old plastic cutting Board, which worked perfectly and reduced the amount of alternation.

My 94 came with one and it looks like a factory part. I tried using it the first year I owned the boat but I do not carry it anymore, it just seems to be in the way when not in use, which is more often that not.
