Hi Everyone. Data point from my end. I've got 2001 31 TE with two Yanmar 6LP-STE engines. Transmissions are ZF marine transmissions 630A1 with a 2.04 gear ratio (per the survey ). Props are 20 x 19. Bottom does not have growth, but needs to be re-done (blasting, etc). With a loaded boat I get about 17-18 kts at 3100rmp. With some sea state it will be 16-17kts. I think on a smooth day after launch I got up over 20 at about 3500 rpm.

Well reviving this old thread,my yanmar went boom…so having to pull it and think why not try to get that extra speed i miss

Anyway every prop calculator out there says no way,she weighed 10500 on the slings missing 100 gallons of fuel,4 men and 200lbs of ice when we fish

I may not be able to get more speed

In the morning it's all we can do to go 16mph most of the time 14.5

In the afternoons it will see 18-20 depending on seas.

Motor will spin up up to 4000 on a half load as i am now

I run it at 3500-3600 in and out 3 to 4 hrs one way

What happened to the Yanmar? How many hours did you have on it?

That’s mad. Running at 3300 with tide at the weekend I was averaging 20 knots. Pushed up to 3400 I was seeing over 21 knots. I did that for 67 miles.
