Re: Trailer launching a 25/27.
I have owned, and trailered a 27FC. It is not for the faint hearted, to say the least. It's close to 8000 lbs. of huge boat, not comfortable to tow by any means, and definitely not a single hander. I would highly recommend not considering it a trailer trawler at all. These are some of the reasons I just bought a 25!

As a very happy A27 owner, the use case you describe is every reason I would go A25, for of the reasons in the responses. I am the lazy type that leaves the thing in the water.
Curious where the ‘shaft seal burp or overheat’ concern came from. That would be an issue with either boat (or any inboard engine boat - b/c they all need to be hauled). Probably watched 100 inboard launches, and I’ve never heard it brought up.

I am close to buying a 25 and have been reading through a lot of these older threads. I am curious if you ever picked up a 25 or 27 and what your launch experiences have been. I ramp launched a 31 foot trimaran many times over the years. One small item that made it so much easier and made all the difference to me was using a hitch that had a long drop in it vs the straight or short drop for towing if you follow. This would keep the trailer more in the same plane as the water surface once you backed down. I would change out the hitch at the ramp. Thus much easier to float it on or off. Huge difference.
