Hi All,
Our 31 TE windshield windows seem to be shedding their black rubber/foam gaskets (if that's what they're called - I have no idea). Does anyone else have this problem, and if so, how was it addressed?

Re: Thin Black Foam/Rubber Gasket on 31TE Windows?
I am interested in this thread. I don't have this issue, but before I bought my boat, the window frames were all removed & painted, so they look good and some rubber gasket material was put in there, but my windows leak. Splash over the bow and I have drips on my front windshield. Before spring launch I am going to remove the outer frame and see what's going on. I am hoping some butyl tape will fix the leaks. If anyone knows how the windows are assembled, I would appreciate any pre-work knowledge!

I don't know what's supposed to seal those windows, but what's there looks like closed-cell foam/rubber seal/weatherstrip with adhesive on one side. If the material were new and adhered properly, do you think it would work? There are tons of these products on Amazon in various thickness, widths and lengths. The key is closed cell.
I don't know if the windshield on the 31TE is constructed differently than the 28TE, but our '95 28TE didn't have any interior gasket. All the weatherproofing was on the outside.

Nancy,
We also have thick white rubber gaskets on the outside which you can see in the first and second pictures (have turned grey from dirt). I wonder if this black interior stuff was added later by somebody and the adhesive has just failed from age.
