Albin Rendezvous March 27-29, 2012

An important announcement for those planning to attend the rendezvous: We are close to capacity at 30 boats. Early arrival is Tuesday, March 27 and departure is Friday. Our rate is the same as last year at $1.00 a foot per night, including electric and water. (Thanks Frank). Berthing is 16 boats along the walls and balance in slips. All arrivals check in with the Dockmaster and the host boat – “A-List” with the banner – to confirm your reservations and get your ballot and chances for the Cayman Island trip (see below).
Schedule of Events
Tuesday, March 27 –No formal activities. Stop by the host boat. Greet friends.
Dinner on your boat or at one of the four restaurants in the harbor.
Live rock and roll band in the square with an eclectic mix of boaters, bikers and tourists. (Band stops at 10)
Wednesday, March 28 – Tour the boats and consider your balloting for awards
1400 in the Pavillion tent – Speaker (TBA)
1730 – Social hour in the Pavillion (BYO). Ice provided.
1830 – Barbeque, hamburgers and hot dogs provided, $5 pp, AND please bring a dish to share (salad, baked beans,
desert, or whatever?) Ice provided.
Thursday, March 29 - 0800-1000 – Optional buffet breakfast at Pignoli’s on the harbor:
Waffle, Omelette and Carving stations, pastries, for
our group only - $13.75 (40 people minimum)
1030 – Business and awards meeting in the Pavillion tent
Group break-out meetings based on boat or engine type
Afternoon – Free time
1830 – Dinner at Rum Runners after happy hour (separate checks)
Miscellaneous
Every participant will receive a chance to win a free week in a 2 bedroom unit at the Morritt’s Grand Resort on Grand Cayman Island – the week of August 11 – 18, 2012 (not including flight, land transportation and electric charges). Additional chances may be purchased for $1.00, limit of 10 each, with all proceeds going to the Albin forum. Scuba divers may take note....
Awards will be given for most original/unusual modification, shiniest boat/cleanest boat, worst gel coat condition, oldest Albin, longest distance covered to the rendezvous, etc?

Good morning Chuck - my wife and I are "future" Albin 32+2 Owners as we plan on purchasing one this year and taking the boat on the Great Loop starting in April, 2013. We do know Doug and Rhonda Fuller who will be at the reunion. Do you have any problem with us attending the functions on Wednesday and we will stay at the motel that night?? Conversations with Albin Owners who may have done the Great Loop or portions of the trip will be helpful in planning our trip.
